At ToolHut, we want you to be 100% satisfied with every purchase. If you’re not, our Refunds & Returns Policy explains your rights and our process under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa.

1. General Return Period

  • You may return most products within 7 days of delivery for a refund, exchange, or store credit.
  • Products must be unused, in original packaging, and in resalable condition.
  • Proof of purchase (order number, receipt, or invoice) is required.

2. Defective or Damaged Products

If a product is defective, damaged, or not what you ordered:

  • Contact us within 7 days of delivery.
  • We will arrange for collection at our cost.
  • Once inspected, we’ll offer you:
    • A replacement,
    • A repair (if applicable), or
    • A full refund.

If the defect appears within the manufacturer’s warranty period, the item may be sent for assessment or repair as per the warranty terms.

3. Non-Returnable Items

Certain items cannot be returned, including:

  • Products not in their original packaging.
  • Items showing signs of use, misuse, or neglect.
  • Clearance, “Final Sale”, or discounted items (unless defective).
  • Custom or special-order products.
  • Consumables (e.g., drill bits, blades, lubricants) once opened.

4. Incorrect Product Ordered

If you ordered the wrong product:

  • You may return it within 7 days, but the return courier cost will be for your account.
  • The product must be unopened and in original packaging.
  • A handling/restocking fee of up to 10% may apply.

5. Refunds

  • Refunds are processed within 7–10 working days after we receive and inspect your returned product.
  • Refunds will be made to the original payment method (e.g., card, EFT, PayFast).
  • Delivery charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to ToolHut’s error.

6. Exchanges

  • Exchanges are subject to stock availability.
  • If the requested product is unavailable, a refund or store credit will be offered instead.

7. Warranty & Repairs

  • Many products carry a manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty periods and terms differ by brand and product.
  • Warranty claims require proof of purchase.
  • Products may be sent to the supplier/manufacturer for testing before a repair or replacement is approved.
  • Warranties do not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or failure to follow usage instructions.

8. Return Process

  1. Contact us at admin@toolhut.co.za or 010 123 4567 with your order details and reason for return.
  2. Our team will advise next steps and issue a return reference number.
  3. Return the product to:
    ToolHut, 44 Pilkingtons Industrial Park, Morris Street, Meyerton, Gauteng
  4. Once inspected, we’ll process your refund, exchange, or repair.

9. Consumer Protection Act Rights

Nothing in this policy affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). If goods are defective within 6 months of delivery, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.
